Roman Pavlyuchenko has praised the ‘sense of family’ within the Tottenham squad and feels it is this team spirit that could drive Tottenham towards their goals this season.

Tottenham occupy the final Champions League qualification place currently and have an FA Cup semi-final date against Portsmouth coming up.

Pavlyuchenko is enjoying his time at Spurs again, after being frozen out for the first half of the season and has tailed his fellow team members as the reason behind his recent good form.

“My goals should be credited to the whole team and not just myself.

“I am presented with chances and all I am trying to do is capitalise on them.

“The team itself has progressed immensely and we are a much better team compared to last year.

“In terms of spirit, we are almost like one family and that definitely contributes to the success we are enjoying at the moment.”

The Russian forward is optimistic that Spurs can crack the top four and earn the right to compete in Europe’s top club competition.

“We are trying to become the number four team in the table this year, which opens the road to the Champions League.

“There are only two months left and have to keep winning to finish the job.

“We still have to play the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.

“These are difficult teams. But anything in football anything can happen and any team can be a surprise.”
