Stuart Pearce has picked out weaknesses in trio Kieran Trippier, Ben Davies and Dele Alli.
All three players are recognised as senior members of the the Tottenham squad and are regular starters under manager Mauricio Pochettino.
However speaking on Sky Sports former Nottingham Forest legend Pearce has his doubts over full-back pair Trippier and Davies citing their lack of energy.
Pearce is seemingly unsure whether the duo are in the same league as the currently injured Danny Rose or Kyle Walker, who of course left us to join Manchester City in the summer.
Dele also came in for criticism from Pearce as the Forest legend picked out the flaw that he (Alli) struggles in tight spaces.
“I think they miss Danny Rose and Kyle Walker, with Rose injured and Walker at City now,” Pearce said “While Kieran Trippier and Ben Davies are more than adequate, they’ve not got the same energy as the other two, and I think they need that at home.(Wembley)
Pearce continued about Dele saying “Dele Alli’s form can’t be bob on all the time, you have peaks and troughs in a career, and he’s just going through a tough period at the moment. Teams are giving Spurs more respect, banking up and making it tight, and I don’t think Dele is great at manipulating the ball in tight spaces; he likes to have a bit more room.”
Trippier and Davies were fantastic in our 4-0 demolition away to Huddersfield.
Both players have improved under the guidances of Mauricio Pochettino and Danny Rose will have it all to do to regain his place in the starting eleven
Dele has suffered a recent dip in form but did show glimpses of his old self against Huddersfield and as the old saying goes “form is temporary, class is permanent”
Have something to tell us about this article?
Let’s not get carried away here. After all, the comment was made by Stuart Pearce whom I wouldn’t class in the same category as an Albert Einstein. Pearce is an uneducated oaf who probably struggles to write his own name.
Damn right dude.all of a sudden Pearce is a legend since his penalty at euro 96! !
Before then was he a legend? ,ERRR NO! !
WHEN HE COCKED UP THAT PENALTY IN ITALIA 90.HE WASN'T A LEGEND THEN WAS HE? ?
players go through phases, dips etc
Yes Davis has been doing a good job. but rose is needed there big time.personally I think serge is better than walker, but in fairness walker has been missed. .didn't wantto see him leave the lane.

Perhaps he failed to notice Davies sprinting 50+ yards in the 91st minute to set up Sissoko.
