Tottenham Hotspur are back in the top four of the Premier League with their latest 3-0 victory over Everton.
A brace from Micky van de Ven and a late goal from Pape Matar Sarr ensured that Spurs secured all three points away from home once more this season.
It was a complete display from Thomas Frank’s men, who all stuck to their task as they ended their run of two games without a victory at the weekend.
Pedro Porro equals Tottenham record after assist vs Everton
Pedro Porro was one of several Spurs stars to have shone against Everton, with the former Sporting man keeping Jack Grealish quiet for most of the game.
However, his influence was not limited to just the defensive side of things; Porro also contributed to a goal as Spurs ran out winners.
The Spaniard assisted Van de Ven’s second of the night with a lovely delivery from a corner, which the Dutchman met emphatically. In the process, the full-back equalled a record for Tottenham.
That goal contribution took Porro’s total assists for Tottenham to 17, making him the joint-highest for a Tottenham defender in the Premier League, with Danny Rose levelled with the 26-year-old.
Porro set to surpass Danny Rose’s record
Of course, before the season runs out, one would expect Pedro Porro to surpass Rose and become the defender with the most assists for Tottenham.
The Spanish full-back has been a constant for Tottenham since making a move two seasons ago, and it is no surprise he is close to breaking such a record.
He would have the chance to do just that when Chelsea comes visiting the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the weekend, where Spurs would be hoping to make it back-to-back wins for the season.
