Pedro Porro has told his Tottenham teammates how to react to the intense criticism that is being levelled at them as individuals and collectively.
Pundits have not held back on Spurs and some of their players over recent weeks, with the loss to Chelsea attracting huge swaths of criticism.
Tottenham have been told they look like a confused side under Thomas Frank, while one pundit even remarked that Spurs look like a League Two team.
Some individuals have also been blasted by various media figures, none more so than Xavi Simons, who has already been written off as a flop.

Pedro Porro tells Tottenham teammates to shut out outside noise
The Spurs full-back is no stranger to being on the receiving end of harsh criticism, with Tim Sherwood ripping Porro to shreds for his defending during the Spaniard’s early days at Tottenham.
The 26-year-old has proven his critics wrong over the last few years, and he has now revealed that he accomplished that by simply not paying any attention to what is being written or said about him.
Pedro Porro said on Tottenham’s matchday programme [23:10, 5/11/2025]: “These competitions, as everyone knows, are very physical to be playing in. I try not to think about other people’s opinions and what they think of me from the outside.
“My focus is entirely on giving my best and helping the team out at all times. That’s the way you can stay on it through a long season, focus on your own performances, and shut out everything else.”
Porro admits he is hungry to win more trophies at Spurs
The former Sporting Lisbon man also reflected on what winning the Europa League back in May meant to him personally and the club.
Porro admitted that the trophy has made him hungrier to pick up more medals at Spurs and confessed that he and his teammates are determined to make a mark in the Champions League this season.
When asked for his best moment at Tottenham, the Spain international responded: “Well, I would say, what stands out most is the title [Europa League]. It’s a nice moment here at the club and for me because I haven’t won a title for a long time.
“It’s also my first European title, and that moment will stick with me as it’s the most beautiful. Then, whenever you win a title, you always want more. For the group, it was very important to win that title. For many, it was their first, and that gives you that energy and positivity to keep winning.
“We were also very close to winning the Super Cup. I think the good performance in the Super Cup was a positive thing for us, but it’s a game I think personally we should’ve gone on to win. But football is like that, sometimes it escapes you, but for the group, it’s important, and it’s going to stay that way. When you win one, you always want more.”
When asked about playing in the Champions League, Porro said: “It’s really incredible because it’s the biggest competition in European football and playing Champions League always gives you the will to take a step higher when competing in one of the biggest stages in the world.”
