Pedro Porro sends message to Spurs fans after reactivating his social media

Tottenham Hotspur’s Pedro Porro has sent a message to fans after reactivating his social media accounts and has thanked those who supported him.

The Spaniard, a new signing at Tottenham in the January transfer window, has not found it easy since his move to North London.

Porro suffered a disastrous debut in the 4-1 defeat against Leicester City in February, and was dropped in favour of Emerson Royal as a result.

He has found himself enjoying a run in the side once more of late, however, due to an injury to Royal.

Things turned sour again for Spurs and for Porro at the weekend, as the Lilywhites succumbed to a disappointing loss against relegation battlers Bournemouth.

Porro made a crucial error leading to Bournemouth finding an equaliser in the game on Saturday afternoon. The Cherries would eventually go on to win 3-2 at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

The 23-year-old defender deleted his social media accounts after the game (Football London).

During the match, Porro’s teammate Davinson Sanchez received booing and heavy criticism from the Tottenham Hotspur support and there’s a chance Porro may have taken the action due to abuse he was receiving online. Sanchez also chose the deactivate his Instagram account after the game.

Now, Porro has returned to Twitter and he has a message for the fans as he seemingly reflects on what happened at the weekend.

Porro said: “You never know how strong you are, until being strong is the only option you have left. Thanks for the love messages.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I don’t blame Pedro Porro for deleting his social media.

If I was in the limelight half as much as Premier League footballers are, I don’t think I’d ever go on Twitter, so fair play to him for coming back.

He made a mistake on Saturday, as all players do from time to time, but the fanbase really needs to get behind the players right now rather than making this difficult period even more toxic.
