Pepe Guardiola reveals crucial Man City injury ahead of Tottenham clash

Tottenham Hotspur take on Manchester City on Wednesday night in the Champions League quarter final second leg at the Etihad.

Spurs take a slim advantage into the away leg after winning the game at their new stadium by one goal to nil, thanks to a late Son strike.

However, Spurs will be without Harry Kane for the return leg, after the star striker suffered yet another ankle ligament injury against the Citizens.

Dele Alli and Harry Winks are also doubts ahead of the crucial fixture, after picking up a broken hand and a groin injury respectively.

Pep Guardiola has revealed a doubt of his own, when stating before the 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday that Fernandinho picked up a knock against Spurs.

The holding midfield player has been a key cog in the Man City machine for many successful seasons now, starring in 38 games this season already.

It will certainly be good news for Tottenham if he isn’t available.

Pep said (Football London): “Yes. He finished bad against Tottenham. Today he is not fit. It’s short-term.”
