Permanent sale of Tottenham forward has not been ruled out this summer

A big update has emerged on the future of one Tottenham youngster, who potentially faces an exit from Hotspur Way this summer, just two years on from arriving in North London.

While plenty of Tottenham youngsters are thriving out on loan, one Spurs man has had a couple of forgettable spells since January of last year.

Alejo Veliz hardly got a look in during his loan spell at Sevilla during the second half of last season, while he has also struggled to have the expected impact at Espanyol, having scored just one league goal so far this season.

There has understandably been a lot of speculation over the 21-year-old’s future at N17, and one journalist has now set the record straight about the striker’s future.

Tottenham will soon make a decision on Alejo Veliz

Last week, some reports indicated that River Plate were ready to offer Veliz a route back to Argentina, with the South American giants said to have made the Tottenham man their top target.

However, Argentine journalist Uriel Iugt has now taken to social media to make it clear that the plan for the moment is for Veliz to return to Hotspur Way for pre-season.

He reveals that neither Spurs nor the player have finalised any plan for the summer. However, Lugt adds that permanent departure from Tottenham Hotspur has not been ruled out for Veliz this summer.

Tottenham’s decision will depend on the offers they receive for Veliz

One suspects that the Spurs hierarchy will be keen to offer Veliz one more chance to prove himself out on loan. Perhaps they will consider sending him to the Championship so he can get regular football under his belt in the English game.

However, should they receive a decent offer for the centre-forward, Tottenham may be tempted to cut their losses on the player.
