Peter Crouch has insisted that he would pick Harry Kane over any other player if he was to bet his life on someone to score from 25 yards out.
The Tottenham striker has started this campaign where he left off towards the end of last season, having already found the back of the net thirteen times in all competitions, with less than a quarter of the season gone (Transfermarkt.com).
The 27-year-old seems to be reaching a new milestone every game, as he breached the Premier League’s top 10 scorers list with his strike against Brighton, scored his 200th Spurs goal against Ludogorets and netted his 150th Premier League goal against West Brom.
While the England captain has always been an excellent goal scorer, he has also become Tottenham’s main creator this season, having registered 10 assists already.
Crouch admitted that the Spurs talisman is almost like two players rolled into one.
When asked whether Kane could breach Shearer’s all-time Premier League goal record as part of an Ask Crouchie segment in The Daily Mail, the former Tottenham striker responded: “The numbers are staggering. He’s got 201 for Tottenham now and he could end up with 300 for the club before he finishes.
“He’s a certainty to join Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney in the 200 club for the Premier League but beating Shearer’s total of 260 will be a tall order.
“Kane is not only Tottenham’s best scorer, he’s also their best creator. He’s like two men rolled into one.
“The best compliment I can pay him is that if you wanted someone to take a shot to score from 25 yards to save your life, I’d pick Kane every single day.”
