Peter Crouch predicts who will win out of Liverpool and Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur face Liverpool this evening in the Champions League final which has also been dubbed by some as the ‘Peter Crouch final’ in homage for the striker who has played for both clubs during his career.

Crouch came through the academy ranks at Spurs, but did not make a name for himself until he left the club to get his career on track. The England international scored 22 goals in 85 appearances for Liverpool and netted 12 times for Spurs in 73 appearances between 2009-2011.

The 6 ft 7 in forward is best known among Spurs fans for the goal he scored against Manchester City that secured our first ever Champions League campaign.

Ahead of the European showpiece in Madrid, Crouch was asked for his opinion on who does he think will come out on top between his former sides and he thinks that it will be Liverpool who will secure a sixth European Cup victory.

Crouch wrote in The Daily Mail: “It is very hard to call but I feel Liverpool will have a bit too much when it matters.

“I can see them winning 3-1 or 3-2 and in normal circumstances, it would leave me overjoyed. On this occasion, however, I know my feelings will be mixed.”

Opinion

Hopefully, Crouch is wrong with his prediction. Liverpool may have been the better side in the Premier League this season, however, in a cup final anything can happen.
