Peter Crouch responds to Mourinho’s joke about signing him on a free transfer

Tottenham Hotspur are running out of options in the attacking third of the pitch, with Heung Min Son the latest injury-hit star.

Spurs announced today that Son fractured his arm on Sunday during the Premier League clash with Aston Villa, a game the Lilywhites won 3-2.

Despite picking up the nasty injury, Son continued to play for the rest of the match, first netting a goal from his own penalty rebound, before stroking home the winner in the last minute.

Tottenham believe that Son will be out for a number of weeks, however, Mourinho seemed to imply that this was ambitious, claiming that he would likely not call on the winger again this season.

When talking about the emergency transfer option in Spain, a rule that Barcelona are utilising (BBC), Mourinho joked that Spurs could call on Peter Crouch to save the day.

Crouchy has now responded to this on Twitter and he is primed and ready to go!
