Peter Crouch urges Spurs star to resist any transfer temptation

Peter Crouch has urged Harry Kane to resist the urge to go to a club such as Real Madrid and to instead remain in North London and guide Tottenham to silverware.

Kane has been one of the best strikers in world football for over six years and the striker has constantly been linked with a move away from Spurs during that time.

It has been no different this season for the Tottenham academy graduate, with reports indicating that he is a summer target for both Real Madrid (Don Balon) and Manchester City (Christian Falk) .

However, it has been revealed that the North London club are keen to tie the England captain down to a new contract, even though his current deal runs until 2024.

The 27-year-old has taken his game to a new level this season, turning into one of Tottenham’s main creative outlets while also continuing to score goals at an extraordinary rate.

One certainly would not bet against the striker firing Tottenham to a trophy win this season and Crouch believes winning one or two trophies with the Lilywhites will mean more to Kane that winning several with a club like Real Madrid.

The former Spurs man told The Daily Star: “Sometimes the grass isn’t always greener.

“I think if you win something at Tottenham, it is going to mean 10 times more than going to Real Madrid and winning something.

“He’s a top player and he deserves the best so nobody can begrudge him anything if he wants to move.

“But I just feel like if he thinks there’s a chance of winning something at Tottenham I think it would mean far more to him than if he went somewhere and perhaps won a league title in a different country.

“Whereas at Tottenham if he finishes there or he manages to win something there they’ll have a statue built for him, wouldn’t they?”

Spurs Web Opinion

There is no doubt that Kane would go down as the greatest player in Tottenham’s history should he spend the rest of his career at the club. If we win a trophy this season and show signs that we are heading in the right direction, I believe the 27-year-old will commit his future to the club.
