After nearly half a season of additional delays, Tottenham Hotspur finally managed to move into their brand new stadium earlier this month.

Last night, Brighton became the fourth side to play at the 62,062 capacity seater stadium when they put up a spirited defensive display which frustrated Spurs and nearly worked perfectly until Christian Eriksen found the bottom corner of the net in the 88th minute.

Before the match, Brighton’s social media team took to their official Twitter page to praise the new stadium – something you cannot see West Ham doing on Saturday through pure jealousy and instead have to resort to being excited about their new claret carpet.

It was refreshing to see another club acknowledge the work which has gone into Tottenham’s new home which is becoming somewhat of a fortress for Mauricio Pochettino’s side having won all four fixtures and are yet to concede a goal since returning to North London.

  1. With Hughton and watching their ascent, it is hard not to like Brighton(or BHA of old). Despite how much we needed the 3 points IMO they deserved a point if mainly for their work ethic and my soft spot for them. That tweet was exactly what you would expect from a club with class.

  2. Let’s be fair, the East End squatters are missing their annual cuddle with Millwall. We are simply a surrogate toy to play with till the boys from the Newish Den bounce upwards! Remember, it’s not just Chris H at Brighton, but Mr. Barber resides there, too…. As for West Ham, what a desperate mess they’re in. Squatting in a stadium they really hate. No ground of their own, while looking on at ours gaining all the headlines. And having to adopt Spurs as their annual Cup Final… and with the board from hell in charge!
