The first photo of Christian Eriksen in public has emerged after the former Tottenham Hotspur player was discharged from hospital.

The Danish midfielder suffered a cardiac arrest during his side’s 1-0 defeat against Finland in their opening Euro 2020 fixture on June 12th and was given CPR on the pitch before being taken to hospital in Copenhagen.

The Danish FA revealed that Eriksen underwent a successful operation to have a cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) implanted on June 18th and returned home to continue his recovery.

Eriksen was photographed alongside a youngster Bjorn Bindzus at Tidvilde Strand beach in northern Denmark with Bindzus admitting that the Inter Milan midfielder was more than happy to pose for the picture (BT).

It is great to see Eriksen up on his feet and looking well following the horrific incident which brought the footballing world to its knees last month.

Eriksen was one of Tottenham’s most influential players over the past decade and is still someone who we have failed to replace, despite him having left over 18 months ago.
