‘Finally I’m back with the team’ – Returning injured Spurs man posts to social media

Erik Lamela has taken to Instagram to celebrate his return to first-team training this week, featuring a photo of him working alongside his teammates. The caption on the post read: ‘Finally I’m back with the team. Let’s go.’

The Argentine has already made ten appearances this season, scoring two goals in that time, but will be looking forward to getting back on the pitch (TransferMarkt).

Lamela was last seen on November 1 against Brighton in the Premier League but has missed a total of 11 competitive matches since then (TransferMarkt).

Since then, the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Steven Bergwijn have played in the advanced positions with Harry Kane and Heung-min Son at Spurs.

Spurs are next in action on December 23 against Stoke City in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals. Tottenham have been without a trophy in over 12 years and a semi-final would be a fantastic Christmas present for the fans, players and staff at the club.
