Photo: Ndombele replacement arrives at Lyon for medical

Several Brazilian publications including Gazette Sportiva reported a few days ago that Lyon have reached an agreement for the transfer of Flamengo midfielder Jean Lucas for a fee of €8 million.

The 20-year-old defensive midfielder, who is currently on loan at Santos from Flamengo, is thought to be a replacement for Ndombele as he is also a box to box midfielder.

Football.London reported earlier that Spurs and Lyon are close to agreeing on a deal for Ndombele but Lyon’s president Jean-Michel Aulas recently stated that the club will only let the talented 22-year-old leave if they get a replacement in prior to is departure (Evening Standard).

It looks Lucas arrived in Lyon on Monday to complete his medical before finalising the move.

While the move is yet to be officially announced, an image of the young Brazilian arriving at the Lyon airport, which he posted on his Instagram story has got Spurs fans really excited.

If the deal for Lucas is finalised then it could indeed mean that Ndombele is close to joining Spurs.
