Tottenham Hotspur secured the services of Ryan Sessegnon on the final day of the summer transfer window.

The highly-rated 19-year-old put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the option of a further year (BBC).

Frustratingly, the left-sided player is yet to make his debut for the North London club due to the hamstring injury he picked up while on international duty with the England Under-21’s during the summer (Football.London).

Sessegnon took to Twitter earlier today to post a set of photos of himself during yesterday’s training session at Hotspur Way along with the hourglass Emoji to suggest that he is counting down the time to returning to action.

Opinion

With left-back Danny Rose suspended for Sunday’s trip to Everton after picking up his fifth booking of the season during the 2-1 loss to Liverpool, Mauricio Pochettino is likely to pick between Ben Davies and Sessegnon to fill the void.

Davies seems to be the more logical option considering that Sessegnon will be lacking match fitness and a place on the bench is likely to be the best option.
