Sunday saw the Tottenham Hotspur transfer rumour mill kick into gear with the speculation linking Steven Bergwijn with a move to North London.
The 22-year-old, who has been capped seven times by the Netherlands was left out of the PSV squad that drew 1-1 at home with FC Twente yesterday afternoon.
ESPN claim that the player is close to joining Tottenham ahead of the closure of the January transfer window on Friday.
Bergwijn has scored five goals in 16 league appearances this season for the Dutch club.
He took to Instagram last night to record a 1:10 minute video labelled as the ‘the truth’ to address reports that suggested that he refused to play for his club side ( Voetbal International).
One Spurs fan has claimed that he has managed to identify the location of where Bergwijn recorded his video from.
The Instagram footage shows the player sitting on a bed with a distinctive tiered wooden headboard positioned behind his head, the same headboard style can be found at the Beaumont Hotel in Mayfair, London.
Confirmation that Steven Bergwijn is in London. The bed he’s sitting on in his recent Instagram video appears to be the same bed as those at the Beaumont in Mayfair.
