Ahead of what looks set to be Tottenham’s busiest summer since the departure of Gareth Bale in 2013, rumoured transfer target Giovani Lo Celso has been pictured with Spurs’ Juan Foyth in Argentina training.

Tottenham’s interest for the Argentinian midfielder was sparked before the Champions League final and since then it has only intensified.

Ahead of Tottenham’s historic European clash with Liverpool there were strong suggestions that Spurs were ready to break their transfer record with a £53 million offer for Lo Celso. (Metro)

Just two days ago, Lo Celso removed “Professional Footballer for Real Betis” from his Instagram bio which further added fuel to the fire that he could be on the move.

Lo Celso was called up for his international debut in November 2017 and has since made 10 appearances for his country. The 23-year-old now finds himself as part of Argentina’s 23 man squad ahead of this month’s Copa America.

Following the transfer speculation surrounding the midfielder, The Mirror have reported that Lo Celso is keen to force a move to Spurs that would see him link up with fellow countryman, Mauricio Pochettino.

Spurs fans will certainly be hoping that Tottenham’s Argentine connection will be able to accelerate the completion of this transfer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Pochettino’s Argentinian links are always a positive as far as transfer targets are concerned and with recent news that Christian Eriksen may be on his way out of North London, Pochettino will be looking to replace him quickly.

It appears that Pochettino does have a good relationship with the National side and commands a lot of respect amongst his countrymen. With this in mind, I’d be confident that Lo Celso would be keen on a move to Spurs.
