Photo: Spurs star suffers painful facial injury while on international duty

Dejan Kulusevski picked up a nasty facial injury during Sweden’s World Cup qualifier play-off against the Czech Republic last night.

The 21-year-old went to challenge for a header in the 55th minute along with David Zima, which saw the Czech defender make contact with the left side of the Tottenham player’s face.

Kulusevski received treatment on the blow and administered a bag of ice to the area but did return to the field of play.

Images showed that the left-footer had suffered some swelling to his cheekbone and soldiered on to play the full 120 minutes of the win in Stockholm with forward Robin Quaison scoring the winning goal in extra time.

Hopefully, Kulusevski has not suffered any sort of fracture and will be fit and ready to feature for Tottenham against Newcastle when the international break is over.

His impact following his switch from Juventus has been impressive, having scored two goals and provided four assists in his opening 11 games in all competitions for the north Londoners (transfermarkt).
