A number of Tottenham’s first-team stars are currently away on international duty and will thus not play a part in the club’s final pre-season match against Watford this weekend.

Harry Kane, Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld, Ben Davies, Matt Doherty, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Hugo Lloris and Moussa Sissoko are all currently with their national teams preparing for the upcoming Nations League matches.

Meanwhile, Harry Winks and Troy Parrott have withdrawn from England’s and Ireland’s squad after being selected (Tottenhamhotspur.com).

Additionally, Ryan Sessegnon, Brandom Austin and on-loan Oliver Skipp are in the England Under-21 squad for European Championship qualifiers in Kosovo and Austria.

It appears from Sessegnon’s latest social media update that the 20-year-old got an opportunity to train with the England first-team at St George’s Park.

The youngster has shown glimpses of his quality in Tottenham’s pre-season friendlies so far and will be hoping that he carries that momentum into the new campaign.

Next season will likely be a crucial one in Sessegnon’s career. It is clear that the youngster is still quite raw and needs to develop many parts of his game. I cannot see him getting too much time outside the Europa League next season. Perhaps the club might consider loaning him out in January if he fails to get sufficient game time in the first half of the season.
