In what potentially comes as a major worry for Tottenham, Ben Davies was pictured wearing a protective boot after coming off injured in the club’s pre-season friendly against Sevilla.

Davies who featured in the second half of Tottenham’s 1-1 draw against Sevilla on Saturday, seemed to land awkwardly on his ankle when he went up for a header in the dying stages of the game.

The Welshman limped off following the incident and was replaced by Malachi Fagan-Walcott.

Speaking after the game, Antonio Conte admitted the Wales international is feeling some pain in his ankle following the incident on Saturday, but the Spurs head coach suggested he was confident the defender to be back in full training pretty soon (Tottenham).

However, a picture doing the rounds on social media shows Davies wearing a protective boot in Korea before the squad left the country to return to the UK.

Tottenham fans will be hoping that it is just precautionary, given how important a player the 29-year-old has become under Conte.

A protective boot does not necessarily indicate a serious injury, and it could well be just a case of the club being extra careful. Conte’s statement after the game gives me hope that it was just an impact injury. We will likely receive confirmation about the seriousness of the problem over the next couple of days.
