Photos: Check out the new Spurs pitch almost fully laid

Tottenham Hotspur are inching towards completion at their new stadium building site, as the brand new turf was laid yesterday.

The grass was transported to the 62,062 seater stadium in refrigerated trucks, with lighting equipment to help the turf grow already in place at the site.

The staff on site made short work of the job, almost laying the entire pitch in a single day.

The turn was laid onto three retractable trays which, when stored under the south stand, reveal a second synthetic NFL pitch for future American Football matches at Tottenham.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was originally supposed to open against Liverpool on September 15, but delays have pushed that date back further and further.

However, Spurs fans may be in for a Christmas treat as manager Mauricio Pochettino confirmed the stadium would likely be finished in 2018 (as reported by The Telegraph).

With the pitch being laid this week, surely the new ground can’t be far off final completion?

What do you think, Spurs fans?
