Pictures as Hugo lifts the World Cup in France

Hugo Lloris became the first Tottenham captain in history to also lead his country to World Cup glory this summer, as France beat Croatia in the final.

Lloris made one glaring error in the last game, but his overall World Cup campaign was one of outstanding leadership and quality saves.

This week, Lloris was able to return to France with the national team for their first game since winning the title, and it’s fair to say they put on a show.

Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring against the Netherlands, but Ryan Babel pegged the champions back after 67 minutes.

It looked to be a rather stale homecoming for the World Cup trophy until Olivier Giroud stepped up to fire home with 15 minutes remaining.

After the final whistle, the World Cup was brought out for all to see, and Hugo posed for photos with the iconic trophy.
