Tottenham’s new keeper, Pierluigi Gollini has made a big claim about his former Atalanta and current North London teammate, Cristian Romero.
The pair spent last season together at the Serie A club, with Romero on loan from Juventus for the season before both were snapped up by Tottenham this summer.
They started alongside each other in Spurs’ first Europa Conference League match last Thursday, although the Lilywhites came away with a 1-0 away deficit.
Ahead of the second leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this week, Gollini spoke about his centre-back teammate and claimed Romero can become one of the best centre-backs in the world.
He also reportedly labelled the Argentine ‘an animal’, stating he puts his foot and head in where he needs to without ever backing down.

Tottenham face Pacos de Ferreira on Thursday night and will attempt to overturn the 1-0 result from last week in order to progress to the group stages.
Spurs Web Opinion:
With centre-backs, it often comes down to whether their skills are suited to the Premier League. Not only do they have to be a world-class defender, but also quality at playing out from the back, being aggressive and keeping up with the pace, to stand out in the Prem.
