Pierluigi Gollini names three Serie A stars he would like to see join Tottenham

Pierluigi Gollini has revealed that he would like to see Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar and Juventus’ Matthijs de Ligt at Tottenham Hotspur.

Gollini now looks set to return to Atalanta after the end of his loan spell at Tottenham, with reports indicating that Spurs are set to announce the capture of Fraser Forster as Hugo Lloris’ understudy (Daily Mail).

Although the Italian did not get too many opportunities in North London, he seemingly developed a great bond with the squad and appeared invested in the club’s results.

The 27-year-old was asked in an interview with DAZN on Twitch (as relayed by Football.London) to name one player from Serie A that he would like Spurs to sign.

Reports have indicated that Torino’s Gleison Bremer and Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni are on Tottenham’s wishlist this summer (The Telegraph).

However, Gollini named Skriniar and De Ligt as the players he would like to see join the Lilywhites and added that Ivan Perisic would also fit in well at the club.

The goalkeeper is quoted as saying: “Only one from Serie A to bring to Tottenham? Defender: one between [Matthijs] De Ligt and [Milan] Skriniar. [Ivan] Perisic here I would see very well.”

I suspect if you posed the same question to Conte, he would pick Bastoni without any hesitation. The 23-year-old will fit naturally into the left centre-back role at Spurs, understands Conte’s system, and has the potential to evolve into one of the best central defenders in the world over the coming years.
