Piers Morgan blames Spurs for England failure

Incendiary pundit and well-known Arsenal fan, Piers Morgan, has decided that Spurs are to blame for England’s recent Ashes loss.

This comes after Ben Stokes publicly announced on the 30th August that he now supported Tottenham. Stokes performed very poorly in the fourth test after the announcement and Morgan believes this is the reason.

Stokes only managed one run at Old Trafford Cricket Ground as Australia retained the Ashes. This came a week after he pulled off a heroic great escape at Headingley to win Test three.

Morgan retweeted Stokes tweet about Spurs with the caption (Twitter):’I think we know who to blame for Mr Stokes’ sudden dramatic loss of form’. He clearly believes Stokes managing only one run just a week after getting a century was very ‘Spursy’.

Morgan has always made his hatred of Tottenham very clear, often engaging in twitter arguments with Ex-Spurs chairman Alan Sugar and Ex-Spurs striker Gary Lineker. He famously lost a bet with Peter Crouch in December that ended with him wearing a Spurs shirt on live tv for the Carabao Cup draw because they beat his beloved Arsenal.

Piers Morgan loves to ‘banter’ Spurs fans on twitter but this is a tenuous link even for him. Stokes was poor in the fourth test but this was probably just a come-down after his third test heroics.
