PL manager says it would take ‘extraordinary offer’ to sign rumoured Spurs target

Jurgen Klopp has ruled out the chances of rumoured Tottenham target Caoimhin Kelleher departing the club, insisting that the goalkeeper would only be allowed to leave if Liverpool received ‘an extraordinary offer’.

It now appears as if Hugo Lloris‘ days at Spurs are numbered, with reports over recent weeks indicating that the North London club are expected to sign a new number-one this summer and that the Frenchman does not want to be an understudy (The Athletic).

Kelleher is thought to be one of the goalkeepers on Tottenham‘s radar, with The Irish Independent reporting earlier this month that the Lilywhites are eyeing a move for the Liverpool shot-stopper.

The report revealed that the 24-year-old, who has served as Alisson Becker‘s understudy over the past few years, is also on the radars of Brighton and Brentford.

However, Klopp has now insisted that Liverpool have no intention of selling the Irishman this summer.

The German told The Daily Mail: “Caoimh Kelleher? What’s happening with Kelleher? He has a contract.

“You want us to say goodbye (to Adrian) just in case? Honestly, I can’t see Caoimh leaving.

“It must be an extraordinary offer for me to start thinking, I have to say.”

I can see Kelleher asking to leave Anfield this summer in search of regular first-team football but I do not think the 24-year-old would be at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist to replace Hugo Lloris.

Spurs are likely to pursue a more experienced campaigner like Raya or Onana who are proven at the highest level.
