‘Play him’ – Some Spurs fans want to see 20-year-old handed start against Ludogorets

Some Spurs fans are calling for Jose Mourinho to hand Jack Clarke his first competitive start for Tottenham against Ludogorets tomorrow.

The Europa League group stage clash is by no means a certain win for Tottenham, who still have work to do to qualify for the knockout stages after their defeat to Royal Antwerp last month.

Tottenham brushed Ludogorets aside 3-1 in Bulgaria at the start of November and three points on Thursday will ease the pressure ahead of the final two games against LASK and Antwerp.

Clarke did make his senior debut for Spurs in the Europa League as he replaced Carlos Vinicius for the final few minutes in the 3-0 win over LASK last month.

Alasdair Gold suggested on his YouTube channel earlier this month that the 20-year-old will continue to get opportunities from the bench in Europe if Tottenham find themselves in commanding positions in games.

However, some Spurs fans want to see the former Leeds winger being handed a start against the Bulgarian side tomorrow in order to show what he can do.

There is absolutely no chance that Clarke will start against Ludogorets as Mourinho will not want to take any more chances following our defeat at Antwerp. In fact, I expect Tottenham to start with a much stronger team than most fans expect. However, given that we can name a lot more substitutes on the bench in the Europa League and Jose can make five changes in the match, fans can expect to see a glimpse of Clarke should we be ahead by three or more goals going into the final ten minutes.
