Tottenham overcame Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund 1-0 away from home tonight, thus becoming the first team to beat the Germans at their own backyard this season. The result meant that Spurs progress to the final 8 of the Champions League for the first time since 2011.
Several of Tottenham’s players put in great performances on the night with Spurs’ back line getting a lot of praise. Tottenham’s three center halves – Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen hardly put a foot wrong in the game.
Hugo Lloris also produced some fantastic saves to ensure Spurs kept a clean sheet. Another player who has been praised by a lot of fans for his display on the night was midfielder Moussa Sissoko.
The Frenchman produced yet another hard-working display, covering more ground than any other player on the pitch and helping break up the Dortmund attacks. He also set up Kane’s winning goal by playing a lovely through ball into the path of the England captain, early in the second half.
Here’s how some Spurs fans reacted to Sissoko’s display:
Sissoko’s turnaround is actually astonishing. Never expected him to become an important member of the team.

This man become absolutely indispensable to us. Saying these words 6 months ago would have been simply laughable. Well done Moussa.

I am in absolute shock at how good @MoussaSissoko is, he's literally world class, does everything you could want from a central midfielder! #COYS

Jan was clearly our man of the match. Put in another great performance in Europe
Side note: Sissoko has been brilliant. Already has my vote for our player of the season. Never thought I'd say that, but wow..

Well played Moussa, you was an absolute beast in the centre of the midfield.
Despite the outstanding individual performances we have seen this season from Jan and Sonny, honestly think you deserve to win our ‘Player Of The Season’ for the way you have turned your career around.
