STAR PLAYER
Dele Alli. The excellent Hugo Lloris is unfortunate to miss out, but Alli capped an already typically-busy performance with the goal that not only inspired victory when play was finely balanced, but that will be remembered as one of the finest of the season.
MOMENT OF THE MATCH
Dele Alli’s goal. The midfielder, 19, was playing League One football only last season, but he is already an England international, and might legitimately claim to be world class, having scored a goal of which Zinedine Zidane, Paul Scholes, Robin van Persie, and other masterful vollyers of the ball would have been proud.
VIEW FROM THE BENCH
Mauricio Pochettino, admirably, gambled in sacrificing Eric Dier for Nacer Chadli when his team were 1-0 down, and it paid off. So far this season he can do little wrong.
