Player ratings from Spurs’ 3-1 win against West Ham – World class Son

Tottenham Hotspur managed to break the win-one lose-one curse this evening with a 3-1 victory over West Ham United.

Let’s take a look at how the individual players got on:

Hugo Lloris – 7 – Didn’t really have a save to make but made an important claim late on and even grabbed a pre-assist for Son’s late goal.

Matt Doherty – 7 – Not Doherty’s finest game in attack or defence. Conceded a freak corner that Spurs gave a goal away from and it didn’t quite happen in the final third. Not awful by a long shot though.

Cristian Romero – 8.5 – So aggressive against Antonio and didn’t give him a sniff. Also got forward a lot to cause problems. Guilty of the odd silly foul and risk at the back.

Eric Dier – 8 – Solid as always in the centre of defence. Calm on the ball and dominant in the challenge. Staggered he didn’t get an England call-up.

Ben Davies – 8 – Much like Dier, he was extremely solid and reliable all game, letting his teammates do the fancy work and take the glory. Superb performance.

Sergio Reguilon – 7.5 – The good and bad of Reggy. He was up and down that flank all day long, but once again he missed a clear chance when through on goal. Needs some shooting practice that boy.

Rodrigo Bentancur – 8.5 – Fantastic display in the centre of the park. He has your heart in your mouth at times but always seems to wriggle his way out. Controlled the tempo of the game.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg – 8 – Battled hard in the engine room and used the ball well when he had it. Often drops into defence to allow others to underlap. Great team player.

Dejan Kulusevski – 8 – No attacking returns but another good display. Everything he does is so precise and he rarely wastes the ball. Class act.

Heung-min Son – 9 – Forced an own goal, scored two… and somehow didn’t play that well in between. Say what you want, world class players still score when they are out of form.

Harry Kane – 9.5 – Superb and unselfish display. Created three goals, even though he didn’t get one himself. Had one great chance to score and that will likely keep him up at night but he played superbly.
