PLAYER RATINGS: Spurs 1-2 Arsenal

Michel Vorm – He squandered his chance to impress his head coach with a terrible performance that gifted the match to Arsenal. He spilled Oxlade-Chamberlain’s shot right to Flamini and he was out of position to keep out the second goal.

Kieran Trippier – A decent enough performance from the back-up right back as he did not do anything particularly wrong or right. He found it hard to deal with Oxlade-Chamberlain at times but he also provided some decent crosses and set piece deliveries.

Danny Rose – He looked more like himself today after the terrible Qarabag performance last week. He was a superb attacking threat as he bombed forward at every opportunity and defended well enough.

Federico Fazio – A horror show of a performance from the Argentinean as he was at fault for both of Arsenal’s goals. He was so slow to react in the first and assisted Flamini for the second with an aimless clearance. He was dreadful on the ball and beaten easily all game long.

Kevin Wimmer– He was the better of the centre-backs even though Fazio did not set the bar too high. He was comfortable on the ball and strong off it which is encouraging for the young Austrian.

Eric Dier – He finally showed signs of fatigue as he was not at his best in the second half. He did his job well again though as he had some decent tackles and interceptions throughout the game.

Tom Carroll – He disappointed with his performance in the middle of the pitch as he was not up to the physical level of the game. He had some decent passes but he looked for the spectacular too often and gave the ball away cheaply at times.

Christian Eriksen – He still looks off the pace coming off his injury but he looked really dangerous when he found the pockets of space on the edge of the opposition box. His most dangerous moment came when he hit the post early in the second half.

Nacer Chadli – He was the best player on the pitch for Spurs which is encouraging as he had some terrible Premier League outing in the last couple of weeks. He was energetic and skilful, and his dangerous cross caused Chambers to put the ball into his own net.

Andros Townsend – He was energetic and tried to get the better of Gibbs but the Arsenal left back kept him at bay mostly. He had some decent set piece deliveries but not much else to report.

Harry Kane – He is definitely lacking confidence and luck at the moment and the drought is getting to his head as he was inefficient and ineffective in the first half and saw his brilliant scissor kick blocked off the line by Gibbs in the second. He needs a goal as soon as possible to get himself going.

Subs

Heung Min –Son – He never had a chance to score this time as he couldn’t get the touches he needed.

Dele Alli– Booked immediately after coming on the game and had no real impact on the game.

Clinton N’Jie– He was the liveliest of the subs but he had couple of terrible hits and touches that killed the momentum for Spurs.
