PLAYER RATINGS: Tottenham 0-0 Liverpool

Hugo Lloris – He had a fairly easy game as Liverpool only threatened in the first 15 minutes and the last 5. He was lucky to keep a clean sheet after Origi hit the bar in the opening minutes.

Kyle Walker – He had a superb game defensively as he made clean tackles all game long. He used his pace superbly to block off Liverpool attackers at times. However, his attacking contribution was not as good as his defensive play and he had a quiet game in the attacking third.

Danny Rose – He battled with James Milner all game long and came out mostly on top. He bombed forward at every chance and did not forget his defensive duties.

Toby Alderweireld – A really solid game from the Belgian as he stuck in with his challenges and did not put a foot wrong in the game. His distribution was superb as well as his diagonal balls created opportunities for his teammates.

Jan Vertonghen – He was the more under pressure centre back in the game but he did not make any mistakes. He handled Origi easily and kept his countryman quiet and frustrated. His clearances were subpar but his tackling and interceptions more than made up for it.

Mousa Dembele – A man of the match display from the Belgian as he emulated Dier’s performance with an added attacking edge. He drifted past players with ease but he kept the ball for too long at times. His defending was superb as he made some crucial tackles in the middle of the park.

Dele Alli – A really disciplined performance from the youngster as he defended really well in front of his back four and he showed strength when challenging. His attacking contribution was patchy though as he had a shot blocked on the line in the first half but he was invisible in the attacking third in the second half.

Nacer Chadli – The Belgian was really unlucky as he got injured in the 8th minute and had to be substituted.

Christian Eriksen – A really good performance from the Dane as he looked like the player to create something for his team. He was direct with his play and looked to find Kane at every opportunity.

Erik Lamela – He had a disappointing game as he couldn’t create anything to mention. His work rate was there and he put Moreno under pressure for most of the game but he should have done more in the attacking third.

Harry Kane – He was lively and strong against Skrtel and Sakho but he couldn’t find the goal he desperately wanted. He was a bit selfish at times and he wasted two good opportunities which could have won the game for his team.

Subs

Clinton N’Jie – He had 80 minutes to impress this time but he failed to live up to the expectations. His touches and passing were not at the Premier League level but he was the liveliest player in the first half with his direct play and bravery.

Andros Townsend – A late cameo for the English winger.
