PLAYER RATINGS: Tottenham 2-1 Anderlecht

Hugo Lloris – A really good game from the Frenchman as he commanded his penalty box and made some decent saves. He could have not done anything to prevent Anderlecht’s goal.

Kieran Trippier– This guy cannot catch a break. He faced a really lively opposition and he was tormented all game long. His attacking play was subpar and he gave away the ball easily at times.

Ben Davies – Not a good game from the left back as he was culpable for the Anderlecht goal and he was not really impressive in the game to take his starting position back from Danny Rose.

Toby Alderweireld – A really strong performance from the Belgian as usual but he couldn’t get his team to keep a clean sheet today.

Jan Vertonghen – The other Belgian centre back was also really impressive and solid at the back, again as usual. He was tested more today than on Monday but he passed the test with flying colours.

Eric Dier – He was invisible again tonight, which is a compliment for a defensive midfielder. He made couple of errors but they didn’t lead to any goals and that is important for his confidence.

Christian Eriksen – An early exit for the Dane but in the 57 minutes he was on the pitch, he was decent. His assist for Kane for the opener was brilliant but that was the highest point of his game.

Dele Alli – Easily his worst performance of the season. He was invisible on the attacking side with a number of passing errors, he was decent enough defensively but all in all, he was lucky to stay on for as long as he did.

Erik Lamela – A professional performance from the Argentine as his ideas in the attacking third did not come off but he never stopped running and pressing.

Ryan Mason – His return to the starting XI was a good one as he started the attack that led to the opener for Spurs and he ran the show in the attacking third for his team. He also showed great work rate and tracked back whenever his team needed him.

Harry Kane – A superb finish to score his fifth goal in his last three games. He was decent enough for the rest of the game, but he did not manage to get a chance to score his second.

Subs

Heung-Min Son – It is really good to see the South Korean return to the action and he made his impact on the game with the assist for the winner. He was obviously rusty but hopefully he will find his rhythm before the North London Derby.

Moussa Dembele – He came on after the Anderlecht goal and he always tried and looked to get the winner for his team. He found the winner with a spectacular finish from 25 yards out. He looks like he’s on great form at the moment and should be a starter in the NLD.

Joshua Onomah – A decent game again from the 18 year old as he does not look out of place in the attacking trio for Spurs.
