PLAYER RATINGS: Tottenham 2-1 Arsenal

Hugo Lloris – He was only tested against Welbeck and Koscielny and he dealt with them perfectly. He had a really quiet afternoon and he could have done nothing for Ozil’s goal

Kyle Walker – He was at fault in the build-up to Ozil’s goal but he was solid throughout the game and showed good attacking threat.

Danny Rose – He was incredibly active all game long as he kept running up and down the pitch. He created half decent chances for the team and gave Bellerin trouble every time. He should have contained Welbeck for the Arsenal’s goal.

Eric Dier – He was solid at the back and composed on the ball. He gave nothing to Giroud as he refused to be overpowered by the Frenchman.

Jan Vertonghen – He was close to perfect in this game as he kept the pressure on Arsenal with intelligent interceptions. He contained Giroud perfectly and his passes found the target most of the game.

Nabil Bentaleb– His return to the starting XI was a happy one. He settled into his deep-lying playmaker role well and controlled the midfield from the start. He was unlucky not to score from his long-range effort but provided the assist for Kane’s winner.

Christian Eriksen – The Dane was not given any space by the Arsenal defence and it did not help him that he started the game on the left wing. However, he looked dangerous when he cut inside with the ball.

Ryan Mason – He kept Tottenham in the game with his tackles, runs and interceptions as he was the player of the match in the first half. He showed the same intensity in the second half but the end product was not there for him.

Mousa Dembele – It looks like the No. 10 role suits him really well but he has to change his style of play to be really effective as he was too predictable on the ball, trying the same trick too many times.

Erik Lamela – He embraced the intensity of his teammates and did not stop running. However, the end product that the fans are expecting from him was not there again today. He had two chances but slid both times.

Harry Kane – This man is the best player in the Premier League today. It does not matter if he stays quiet for 58 minutes; he still finds a way to be on the score sheet. After his first goal, he showed more energy to press and attack. He got his reward with a superbly headed goal and secured the 3 points for his team.

Subs

Nacer Chadli – He came on for Dembele and moved to the left wing. However, he did not have a good performance to go back to the starting XI

Benjamin Stambouli – He came on for Lamela and helped Spurs see off the game.

Paulinho – Made a cameo appearance.
