PLAYER RATINGS: Tottenham 3-0 Aston Villa

Hugo Lloris – Rarely tested but did what we had to do.

Kyle Naughton – Defensively solid and showed impressive attacking endeavour, finding himself in and around the Villa penalty area on a number of occasions.

Michael Dawson – Competent at the back and displayed a surprisingly wide range of passing.

Vlad Chiriches – Today was a return to the cultured and classy Romanian of AVB’s time, although he was admittedly hardly troubled.

Danny Rose – Better from Rose. Maybe he realised that he was playing for his place in the side next season.

Sandro – Nice to see Sandro back and today was certainly a massive step-up from his last few appearances. Relished his defensive duty with the offensive left to the other midfielders.

Paulinho – Excellent performance today from Brazilian and capped with a goal. Whether he wears Lilywhite next season remains to be seen but I hope he is given another season to demonstrate his true ability – particularly if he has an impressive World Cup.

Christian Eriksen – So classy. A relaxed and probing performance from the Dane, who has had a sensational second half to the season.

Gylfi Sigurdsson – Quietest of the midfield but still a decent performance. May be the last time he is seen in a Lilywhite shirt if new pastures offering more first team football are sought.

Harry Kane – Missed a lot of excellent chances but got himself into great positions again and again, making many intelligent runs.

Emmanuel Adebayor – Characterised his impressive second half of season with a hard-working, enjoyable display, and capped it with a goal.

Substitutes

Milos Veljkovic – Mature and composed in defensive midfield. Certainly a prospect for the future. We’ve won every game he’s played in…

Nabil Bentaleb – Similarly composed, looked to test the keeper.

Alex Pritchard – Didn’t see much of the ball but great to see another Spurs youngster make his first team debut. A tremendous day for him.

COYS for next season!
