Gomes (8) – One dodgy kick and one dodgy throw early on but otherwise totally assured. Dealt well with crosses and made a number of good saves.
Hutton (6) – Probably his best performance for us this season. Tentative defensively but makes you realise what is possible from an attacking full back.
Assou-Ekotto (7) – Totally assured. Only disappointment was that he didn’t wear his hair down and take part in an afro stand-off with Fellaini
Bassong (7) – Unruffled and very solid. Good display.
Dawson (7) – Very Dawsonlike. What is it with those diagonal 40 yard passes though?
Bentley (7) – Not so many pointless flicks and touches as usual. Seemed more focused, lots of skill. The best free kick and corner taker in the club I think.
Huddlestone (7) – Joined in with the early clumsiness but took his goal superbly and made the most of the space available when the Everton players tired late on.
Palacios (8) – A class above everything else around him most of the time.
Bale (7) – Looked competent and skilful. Got more dangerous as the game went on.
Keane (6) – Lack of pace was obvious but was more of a goal threat than he has been of late.
Pavlyuchenko (5) – Didn’t take advantage of a good opportunity to show what he can do.

Was quite disappointed with Pav to be honest, missed a couple of good ones and just didn’t seem good enough. Impressed with Bentley though, even seemed to show some defensive skill in the first half.

Your ratings are by and large with what I would have given apart from Keane whom i would have said more like 4.5.

Can’t believe you’ve given Keane a 6. He’s lost a yard of pace, thinks like Pele but plays like jelly. 4
