PLAYER RATINGS: West Ham 2-0 Tottenham

Spurs Player Ratings

Hugo Lloris – It is so sad that he is probably going to leave this summer. He pulled off save after save and commanded his area against West Ham’s constant aerial attacks. It was an amazing game from him and he stole the show even though his team lost.

Kyle Naughton – He was the best of the worst today as he was the only defenseman who dealt with his assignment relatively easily. Diame not being a natural winger helped his cause though.

Younes Kaboul – Did not show much in the first 25 minutes he was on the game and he received a red card after being put in a difficult situation against Downing.

Michael Dawson – Shambolic defending from the captain as he did not look like a Premier League defender at times. Allowed too much space to Nolan and Noble in the area and he should thank his keeper for keeping the score line at 2 – 0.

Danny Rose – He was almost anonymous on the attack and he gave away the ball that led to Downing’s goal. A forgettable afternoon for the left-back as he proves Spurs’ need for a left-back yet again.

Aaron Lennon – He almost forgot his pace as he never even tried to beat McCartney down the flank. He should be sitting on the bench if he is not even going to use his only ability.

Paulinho – I don’t understand why Chelsea is interested in him and he proved me right today. He did not offer anything on both sides and allowed Downing to score by moving away from the ball.

Gylfi Sigurdsson – He did not look comfortable as the second man of a two-man midfield and did not show his creative abilities today. He was rightfully subbed in 66th minute.

Christian Eriksen – Usually the only good player in Tottenham’s losses this season, he was again at class higher than his teammates. He was the only Spurs player who looked even vaguely threatening but he couldn’t break down the West Ham defence by himself.

Emmanuel Adebayor – He was the worst player on the pitch without a doubt and the fact that he was worse that Dawson says a lot. He did not try to do anything, did not commit himself to the game and he looked like he did not want to play this game. He even gifted West Ham a goal by forgetting how to stand in a wall.

Harry Kane – Looked keen on scoring as he pressed the West Ham defence with enthusiasm. He couldn’t have done anything about the own goal and was subbed after 28 minutes.

Subs

Vlad Chiriches – He doesn’t seem like the player who made Tottenham fans like him at the start of the season. He doesn’t give anybody confidence and he missed his man at times.

Sandro – Replaced Paulinho but he couldn’t offer anything after the game was already over.

Roberto Soldado – His confidence is still not there and it doesn’t look like he is going to score for a long time. There is always next season though as we still hope he’ll justify the money Levy spent on him.

  1. Spot on. Lloris the Spurs man of the match . Does Adebayor have any other gears then 1st when he's outside the box ?

  2. Abject display. No heart, no desire! Danny Rose had a big part to play in both goals; caught out for Downing's run and gave the ball away which led directly to the free kick for 2-0 (although Paulinho's and Ade's lack of bottle didn't help). Eriksen was the only player who had a go. Our defence is scary and I mean scary. Lloris must be sick and tired. Our defensive frailty and Sherwood's tactics were found out today.

  3. No Guts,No Tactics,No Passion,NO chance of winning anything with Sherwood in charge,(he thinks the team showed passion) he was not watching us at Upton Park then, come on Daniel get this sorted once and for all,and please this time stick with the manager you choose.50+ years I have watched Spurs, and this is the first season I want to hide my colours and not display them with pride, only thing I can say to the team is SHAME ON ALL OF YOU.

  4. Lenon 5. Really. The guy can’t even put a cross on a pools coupon let alone on a pitch. How he gets into the team week in week out is beyond a mystery now.

Spurs = LLoris, Eriksen, Vertonghen, Dembele. After that you start to scratch your head for genuine top 4 players in the squad.

  5. I say it again and again and will continue to do so, we will always be a nothing club with ENIC in charge, we must pay decent wages to get decent players, we must do this to stop people like Lloris leaving , ENIC have taken us as far as they are prepared to, we will always be a feeder club for developed youngsters we have brought in unless we pay top wages, Levy is a fool and is kidding himself and quite a few spurs fans if he thinks we can compete with top 4 clubs like this, and for F*ck sake can we stop going on about Eriksen like he is a god, the geezer wouldn't have got in our side 3 years ago with Modric, Bale and VDV, such is the decline of our club and it stinks !!! ENIC OUT !!!!

  6. It comes to something when the only good player on the pitch today (again) was our keeper. No wonder he wants out. We were just plain awful today. We couldn't even make a wall properly and just stand there. The end of the season can't come quick enough.

  7. With few positives only pride to play for in final home against Villa sums up a sorry end to a sorry season.
Cue for a continued revolving door of endless managers searching for that elusive holy grail.
    A shambles.

  8. With few positives only pride to play for in final home against Villa sums up a sorry end to a sorry season.
A shambles on and off the field.

  9. WHEN WILL SOMEONE ON HERE DO AN ARTICLE ON WHY ENIC ARE LOVED BY THE FANS YET ARE INVESTING SO LITTLE IN OUR CLUB ? JOE LEWIS IS WORTH 4.2 BILLION YET HIS NET SPEND INVESTMENT IS ONLY 700K A SEASON, HE IS INVESTING 1/6000 TH OF HIS PERSONAL FORTUNE, IF THE AVERAGE MAN SITS ON A HOUSE WORTH AROUND 300K IT IS THE EQUIVALENT OF ME AND YOU SPENDING £50 A SEASON ON SPURS.. SOME FAN THIS BLOKE IS !!!! CAN WE STOP THE YOU HAVE BEEN LEVY'D NONSENSE AND ACTUALLY WAKE UP TO THE FACT THAT THEY ARE BUYING LAND AND BRICKS WHICH THEY WILL GET BACK WHEN THEY SELL THE CLUB AND NOT INVESTING ANYTHING TO MAKE US SUCCESSFUL, I URGE YOU ALL TO WAKE UP TO THIS FACT AND HOW IT IS HOLDING US BACK FROM THE PROMISED LAND… WOULD YOU INVEST MORE THAN 1/6000 TH OF YOUR FORTUNE IF YOU LOVED SPURS ?

    • Bigsy I understand your passion but we are 4th in the premier league all time spending table= fact

thats not to say its been spent wisely agreed but spend we have

there is something wrong but its not a lack of investment

  10. Perhaps we should copy the Newcastle fans and walk out during the last match v. Villa. Most of the players don't seem bothered to play so why should we be bothered to watch.
