Le Courrier Picard (as relayed by Sport Witness) report that Ndombele has surprised everyone at Nice with his fitness and attitude, having lost weight in the summer prior to linking up with the club.
Ndombele’s Spurs nightmare came to an end this summer, with the midfielder signing as a free agent with Nice after the year left on his contract in North London was mutually terminated.
The Frenchman has had a few issues regarding his weight and overall fitness at Tottenham as well as during his loan spells.
However, that has not been the case at Nice so far, with the player turning out to be ‘a nice surprise’ according to the French news outlet.

It is explained that Ndombele himself did a lot to make the move happen, including heading to Merano in Italy for weight loss treatment.
The 27-year-old reportedly arrived at pre-season in an ideal weight, which is why he has been a starter for the Ligue 1 club so far this season.
His loan spell at Galatasaray last season was said to have seen manager Okun Buruk lose patience with Ndombele after he was still overweight two months into is time in Turkey.
Ndombele has a long way to go to rebuild his career and break back into the France set-up though.

It sounds like the penny might have finally dropped for Ndombele, with the midfielder realising that he has to change his ways to salvage his career.
Hopefully, the 27-year-old can sustain this over the next few years and can finally start to fulfil some of his potential.
If Mauricio Pochettino had remained in charge of Spurs prior to his sacking, it could have been a sliding doors moment at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the talented midfielder rather than wasting the past few years.
