Player Spurs missed out on has mended relationship with his manager

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea defender, Antonio Rudiger, who was rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar this summer, has now mended his relationship with Frank Lampard after being frozen out of the first-team picture at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham reportedly made an attempt to sign German international on deadline day after seeing their deal for Inter Milan defender, Milan Skriniar fall through.

After failing to get their man, Spurs instead sealed a deal for Joe Rodon from Swansea City just before the EFL transfer deadline.

It appeared as if the German international was frozen out of the picture at Chelsea, with Spurs being tipped to make another approach for him in the January transfer window.

However, Sky Sports have suggested that Rudiger has now cleared the air with his manager, as Frank Lampard is quoted in the article as saying that he never had a problem with the central defender.

True to his word, the Chelsea boss handed the 27-year-old his first start of the season in the Blues’ Champions League win over FK Krasnodar on Wednesday.

So, if Spurs did harbour hopes of landing Rudiger in January, it looks as though their task may have just become harder.
