Player Spurs reportedly made ‘very good offer’ for opens up on his future

Antonio Rudiger, who is thought to be on Tottenham’s radar, has insisted the ball is now in Chelsea’s court regarding his contract situation.

Rudiger’s current deal at Stamford Bridge runs out in the summer and Thomas Tuchel’s men have so far been unwilling to meet the German’s demands regarding a new contract (Marca).

It was previously reported that Tottenham were in contact with the former Roma man’s representative on a daily basis, with Antonio Conte’s men said to be trying to strike an agreement ahead of a free transfer at the end of the season (Football Insider).

Transfer Expert Den Jones told The Football Terrace last month that Spurs have made a “very good offer” for the 28-year-old.

However, the journalist insisted that he did not think the Lilywhites would get their hands on the Chelsea man, with Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain also in contention for his signature.

Rudiger has now broken his silence regarding his future, hinting that he has made his desire clear to Chelsea.

The centre-back told The Athletic: “I feel great here, I have always said it.

“I think the way I play you can see that I’m happy here. But there are also other people who have to make decisions.”

Rudiger is clearly saying that it is up to Chelsea to offer him the salary he wants if he is to put pen on paper on a new deal.

Whether or not the German ends up signing a new contract at Stamford Bridge, I do not think Spurs have any chance of winning the race for him

If Rudiger’s representatives are speaking to Tottenham, they are probably doing so in order to use the North London club’s interest to negotiate better terms with the likes of Real Madrid or PSG.
