Player yet to feature for Spurs this season plays his second match in five days

Juan Foyth was once again in action earlier today when he featured for Argentina in their 6-1 victory against Ecuador.

The 21-year-old once again lined up in the right-back position and played 77 minutes of the international friendly before being replaced by FC Porto’s Renzo Saravia.

It was the second match which Foyth had featured in the space of five days after he played the full 90 minutes of their 2-2 draw with Germany on Wednesday night at the Westenfalenstadion in Dortmund.

Foyth has yet to play a single competitive minute of action for Tottenham Hotspur this campaign after suffering a nasty ankle injury during the Audi Cup win against Bayern Munich in pre-season.

Despite being originally named in the Argentina squad for both fixtures, Erik Lamela was not even named among the substitutes for the win against Ecuador. Lamela was left on the bench for the draw against Germany.

With Foyth now having had plenty of game time under his belt in the past few days, he will be expected to come into contention to line up against Watford on Saturday.

Pochettino has already played Kyle Walker-Peters, Davinson Sanchez, Serge Aurier and Moussa Sissoko at right-back this season with the position certainly still up for grabs.

Foyth took to Instagram after the 6-1 win.
