Player’s father admits his son is ‘very likely’ to get summer transfer amid Spurs links

Alexis Mac Allister’s father has admitted that his son is not likely to be at Brighton at the start of next season.

The speculation linking Mac Allister with a move away from Brighton continues to gather steam as we head closer to the summer transfer window.

90 min reported last month that Tottenham are one of the clubs who are keen on snapping up the 24-year-old, with the Lilywhites said to be battling the likes of Liverpool, Newcastle United and Chelsea for the player’s signature.

The publication asserted that the Argentina international is expected to be on the move at the end of the season as he has already made up his mind to take the next step in his career.

The midfielder is also thought to be attracting interest from Spain, with TuttoMercatoWeb revealing last week that both Real Madrid and Barcelona are eyeing moves for the player, with Los Blancos allegedly even willing to spend €110m (£96.5m) on him.

The Brighton star’s father, Carlos Mac Allister, has now confirmed that the World Cup winner will leave the Amex Stadium this summer but he admitted that a decision has not been made on his destination.

He told Puro Boca: “Normally, the upcoming transfer market will find him playing for another club, we don’t know which one yet as the talks are starting.

“It’s very likely that Alexis will be playing in another team in the summer”.

Spurs Web Opinion

Mac Allister’s value has seemingly skyrocketed after the World Cup.

I believe that the midfielder is now overpriced, given the fees that are now being reported for him.

While he is undoubtedly a good player, there is very little value in paying over £70m-£80m for him when cheaper options like Ruben Neves could be on the market.
