Some Spurs fans have been left excited after the club revealed today that Harry Kane has started training outdoors as he steps up his rehabilitation from his hamstring injury.

Kane has been out of action since New Year’s Day after tearing his left hamstring in the late stages of the 1-0 defeat against Southampton.

It was initially feared that the striker would be out for the remainder of the season but Jose Mourinho revealed recently that the 26-year-old is ahead of schedule in his recovery and is expected to be back in action by April (Sky Sports).

With Son Heung-min recently joining Kane on the sidelines following his arm fracture at Aston Villa, Tottenham have been left short of attacking options and have struggled to pick up results in the past few weeks.

Some fans were naturally over the moon on hearing that Kane had reached the next phase of his rehabilitation. Others, however, feared that the club were once again rushing their talisman back too early.

Here’s how fans reacted to the update:

We really need Kane back if we are to have any shot of finishing in the top four. Let’s hope we don’t repeat the same mistake as we did in the past by rushing him back before he is ready. While Kane will naturally want to be out on the pitch as quickly as he can, the coaching staff much make sure that they ease him slowly.
