‘Please no’- Some Spurs fans react as club reportedly open talks for 24-year-old

Some Tottenham fans are less than pleased with the prospect of the club bringing in Ajax goalkeeper, Andre Onana, this summer.

Onana has been linked with Spurs for the last two months, with the club reportedly seeking candidates to challenge Hugo Lloris for his number one spot (Daily Mail).

L’Equipe (as translated by GFFN) reported on Monday that Tottenham had already begun talks to bring the 24-year-old goalkeeper to North London.

It was claimed that the Cameroon international, who was also on Chelsea’s radar, is seeking a new challenge and will be available for just €30 million this summer.

However, some Spurs fans on social media insisted that Onana is not a good enough shot-stopper to replace Lloris as the club’s number one.

They urged the Lilywhites to bring in a goalkeeper with Premier League experience instead.

Here’s how some fans reacted to the report linking Spurs with a move for the Ajax star:

As we already saw when Heurelho Gomes arrived at Tottenham from PSV back in 2008, the Premier League is a completely different prospect for goalkeepers to the Eredivisie. That isn’t to say that Onana can’t adapt to the Premier League, but one can understand the fans’ concern.
