“Please start”- Some Spurs fans react to midfielder’s pre-match post

Tottenham head into the first leg of the Champions League semifinals against Ajax with several key players missing.

While Spurs are without the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min up front, they have also endured a spate of injuries in midfield, with Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko and Erik Lamela also suffering spells out.

As Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama have only just returned from lengthy layoffs themselves, the array of central midfield options for Poch is extremely sparce.

Moussa Sissoko, who has been one of Tottenham’s best players this season, is a doubt for the game after suffering an injury in the quarterfinal win over Manchester City.

The 29-year-old took to social media before the match and indicated in his post that he is pumped up and ready to go for the game.

Some Spurs fans hoped that the post was a sign that the midfielder could potentially start tonight’s game. Here’s how some fans reacted on social media to Sissoko’s post:

Spurs Web’s take

With the number of injuries Spurs are suffering at the moment, having Sissoko back will be a massive boost to the side.

The Frenchman can allow the likes of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen to operate further forward while also being able to cover for Kieran Trippier at the back.

If he doesn’t make the game, the team’s energy levels could be a potential cause for concern against a well-rested Ajax side.
