Poch makes comparison between Liverpool and Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur, thought to be out of the title race a few weeks ago, now find themselves well within a chance of Premier League glory again.

Spurs have picked up three consecutive wins in the League, albeit extremely late victories, propelling them far closer to their two main title rivals.

Man City lost to Newcastle last week, while Liverpool have endured back to back draws against Leicester and West Ham.

This leaves Spurs just five points behind both title favourites, with a game in hand on Man City.

Tottenham have managed to bridge the gap slightly in a time they were expected by many to fall away.

Spurs have had recent injuries to Harry Kane and Dele Alli, as well as a spell away at the Asia Cup for Heung Min Son.

However, the squad battled through without their first team goal scorers, utilising the depth and determination in the team.

Pochettino was asked today whether Liverpool seem nervous, but he instead compared their current injury situation to Spurs’ (Football London): “No. It’s tough the Premier League. There’s a lot of circumstances that happen.

“They are suffering a similar situation to us with injuries and I know it’s not easy to keep the same level.

“The period is going to be tough for everyone that wants to win the trophy at the end.

“But no doubt Liverpool will be there until the end and I hope we too.”
