Poch more motivated for Burnley than he was Barca, and this is why

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he is more motivated for the upcoming Burnley game than he has been for previous games.

Spurs come into the Premier League match off the back of a famous point at the Camp Nou against Barcelona.

The point was enough to see Spurs clinch a spot in the last sixteen in the Champions League.

Spurs have also faced Chelsea, Arsenal, Leicester, and Southampton in recent weeks, but Burnley is the fixture really driving the Argentinian.

The Tottenham gaffer explained that he is relishing the chance to close the gap on Liverpool and Man City at the top of the table.

Liverpool face a tough game against United this weekend, and City take on the streaky Everton.

Spurs currently sit in third in the table, five points behind Man City and six behind Liverpool.

A win this weekend could be huge if the two big dogs drop points, especially heading into a rather nice run of games for Spurs through the holiday season.

Poch said (Football London):  “I am more motivated to play against Burnley than the previous games because to try to reduce the distance with Liverpool and Manchester City, because we’re going to play for three very important points.

“To be in the Premier League, in the top four and to be there and keep the distance and the position for me is a massive motivation and think we all need to feel the same. It’s such an important game, it’s going to be a tough game because every three days to play is always tough but we need to try to find the way to approach the game in the best condition and be sure we’re going to fight to be ready to win.

“We have a very tough opponent in front of us, but the most important thing is the way we approach the game.”
