Poch on injury woes ahead of Tottenham v Barcelona

Tottenham Hotspur face one of the biggest clubs in the world tomorrow night, and may need a win away from home to keep themselves alive in the Champions League.

Spurs picked up a measly one point from their opening three games of the campaign, despite leading late on against both Inter Milan and PSV.

They now find themselves needing to match Inter’s result against the guaranteed bottom PSV in order to progress into the knockouts.

Spurs will be without a host of first team stars for the big game in Spain, making a tough situation even tougher.

Kieran Trippier, Serge Aurier, Mousa Dembele, Juan Foyth, Davinson Sanchez, Victor Wanyama, and more have been unable to make the trip.

Kyle Walker-Peters will likely play in the right back berth due to these injury issues.

Barcelona may field a slightly weakened team of their own though, as they have already qualified top of the group.

Star striker Luis Suarez has also been ruled out through injury (SkySports).

Poch said this on Suarez (Football London): “Obviously it’s an important miss for Barca. He’s one of the best strikers along with Harry Kane. It’s a shame he won’t be playing tomorrow. Suarez has proved in different countries that he’s one of the best. Barca are going to miss him.

On Tottenham’s selection issues, he said: “All the players in the squad list have an opportunity to be in the XI tomorrow. We have Foyth and GK who couldn’t make it because they’re not in the list. We have others who are out, some with minimal injuries which means they can’t be involved tomorrow.”
