Poch provides injury update on key Spurs trio ahead of Barcelona test

Tottenham Hotspur extended their win streak to three games yesterday afternoon after seeing off Huddersfield in a comfortable 2-0 away victory.

Spurs’ lead man Harry Kane looked to be back at his best as he smashed two past the struggling side, and Kane has now become the all-time top goal scorer at the John Smith’ Stadium in the Premier League. And yes, that includes Huddersfield players.

Tottenham look to be gearing back up to their best form in time for the game against Barca at Wembley on Wednesday. Spurs’ Champion League opponents are now three games without a win.

However, the news isn’t all positive for the Lilywhites, as the injury table is stacking up more and more as the days go by. Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele were both removed at half time yesterday as they were nursing injuries.

They join the likes of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen, Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm on the side lines, all four days before Tottenham’s biggest game of the season.

Poch told the Tottenham Hotspur website: “We need to assess Jan and Mousa in the next few days. We’ll see what happens. It will be difficult for Wednesday but of course, I repeat again, for me it’s always about the squad and the team and I congratulate both Victor and Harry, they were fantastic in 45 minutes.

“It’s the same problem he [Dele] had for the national team against Spain at Wembley. Now we need to assess him in the next few days to see when it’s possible for him to come back.

“We tried to manage it, he didn’t play too much against Brighton and against Watford at the end he felt the problem again and now we need to help him to be back as soon as possible.”
